The surgery site is doing well, bruising is fading. The Fentanyl patch had a hot spot under it, which explains why he was bothering the bandage more than his suture line. Hoping that clears now that it's open to air. Looks like it started with razor burn. From the evidence, the surgeon's really great, whoever shaved Duncan had some problems.
We seem to have hit on the right dose of meds so he's quiet but not stoned, and has nice swathes of awake and aware enough to be interested in his toys. He's a fetch-head, and so disappointed I won't throw them for him. He's walking on it when we do potty breaks (and I have to keep tabs on him once he's done or he uses the slack in the leash to pick up the bad knee and run two strides). He's feeling pretty good, all things considered.
Good that you have found a middle-ground for his medication. Does he do the elevated position automatically or did you have to encourage him into this position?
